For most Indians, food is an imperative part of our heritage, our culture and our daily lives. Food is something that connects the people living in the second most populated country in the world across geographical distances. Therefore, it is not such a surprise that the most important step we as Indians take after moving to a new country is searching out the best joints that give us access to authentic Indian food.
It was December,2016 when I shifted to Ireland in the middle of a freezing winter. Calling it a culture shock would probably be a gross understatement. Once the initial madness of house hunting was over , and I had ensured my basic survival , the next agenda was to satisfy the homesickness - and what best way to do that but to indulge in food that reminds me of home!
Dublin had seen the opening of a variety of restaurants that cater to Indian cuisine lovers in the recent years. Among the many I have found, two mentions seem noteworthy and definitely deserve to be tried out.
Kathmandu Kitchen
Known for its authentic Nepalese and Indian food, the restaurant is a veritable treasure trove in the heart of the busy College Green area, attracting the usual throng of tourists as well as students. Many a times, one is even spotted here during a lunch break or after an especially grueling day at work.
