I'm taken, a little confused, into Mary's Bar and Hardware store. "Oh," my friend says, catching a glimpse of my face. "The burgers are in the basement!"
A few minutes later we're settling into an American style booth in Wow Burger, tucked away under an Irish bar, drooling over their menu.
As a vegetarian, I'm fully expecting to only be able to eat the chips. But then I see it. The vegi burger!
I go up to order and I'm treated to another surprise: the menu is out of date. I've got two options, not one.
I can choose either the Portobello Mushroom or the Onion-ring laden one, and after a moments hesitation (I really do like mushrooms) I go for the onion rings (there's just no beating that crisp).
Our number is called, we collect our orders, and I'm in love: the burger is great, but the chips are UNBELIEVABLE.
Five Guys have long claimed to be the number one at chip making, but after just one bite I can tell you - with confidence - that they're no where near as good as Wow Burger.
If you've been craving great chips and good burgers, Wow Burger is the place to be. Their menu is limited, but that means they can focus on getting every item right.
The best part?
If you whip out your student card, you'll get a burger, fries, and a bottomless soda for just 9.95.
